Medford Kyle Newman, 69, Hobart, died at 7 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart. He was born Nov. 7, 1921 in Miami County to Medford Kyle Newman and Mildred Anderson Ireland. The family was formerly of Rochester. He was married to Carol See, who survives. He was a retired principal of River Forest Elementary School, Hobart; an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hobart. He attended Jefferson Township High School at Mexico and graduated in 1941 from Chili High School. Surviving with his wife are three sons, Lee [Newman], Portland; Mark [Newman], Hobart, and Roger [Newman], Hammond; three daughters, Nancy Owens, Oregon, Wis.; Diane Donovan, Brownsville, Texas, and Katrina Newman, Hobart, and five grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Hobart, with the Rev. William Kaster officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bruns-Kish Funeral Home, Hobart. Additional services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at McCain Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev. William Kaster officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. Friends may call from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hobart.
