L1 Joseph William Horine, born December 24, 1918, died March 6, 1942; Occupation: Factory Worker and Farmer; Married September 8, 1937 Dorothy Eyler, born February 29, 1920, died May 31, 1984. Two children. Dorothy's father was Charles Eyler, born August 17, 1881 Eaton, Ohio; and her mother was Ada Scheyhing, born February 12, 1882 in Lewisburg, Ohio.

EX-DARKE COUNTIAN AMONG 2 KILLED in TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

Joseph Horine, 23, Fatally Hurt at Dayton; Parents Live At Castine

PLAN BURIAL THERE

A former Darke County resident, Joseph Horine, 23, of West Manchester, was among two persons killed in this district during the past 24 hours. He was fatally hurt at 8:30 a.m. Friday when struch by an auto near Dayton.

Entroute To Work
The accident in which Horine was fatally injured occured near Frigidaire Plant No. 2 in Moraine City, where the West Manchester man was employed. He had just left his car in a parking lot and was hurrying to work when he was struck by an auto driven by Joseph Dolandson, Dayton R. R. 7.

His death, which orrured at 9:40 a.a. Friday at Good Samaritan Hosputal, Dayton, was attributed to a crushed chest, fractured collar bone, broken leg and internal injuries.

Horine was said to have run directly into the path of Donaldson's car but the driver has been ordered to report at the Montgomery County prosecutor's office for questioning.

Horine, who commuted daily from West Manchester to Dayton, leaves a wife, Dorothy Eyler Horine; a young daughter, Judith Ann; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Horine, of Castine; a brother. Homer, of Eaton, and a sister, Geraldine, of Castine.

Funeral services are to be held at three p.m. Sunday in the United Brethren church in Castine. Burial will be made in Ware's Chapel cemetery.
