ALLEN
Charles George Allen, age 74, Monday. Grant Hospital Retired building contractor. Survived by wife, Adele B. Allen, daughter, Ruth L. Allen, Tempe, Ariz. sons and daughters in law, Al and Denise Butkus, Columbus, Andrew S. and Leona Allen, of Oklahoma, 3 grandchildren, sisters, Pauline Whitehead, Santa Barbara, Calif. Beatrice Moody, Long Beach, Calif. brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Delores Preidis, Hazel Preidis, all of Columbus, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Friday Corpus Christi Church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery Family will receive friends MAEDER QUINT FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S, High St. Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Christian Wake service 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Adele Butkus Allen was born in Skoudas, Lithuania April 13, 1922. She died of natural causes Oct. 7, 2005. She was a strong woman who survived WWII by fleeing Lithuania and immigrated in 1946 to Ohio where she met and married her husband Charles G. Allen. She put together a life for herself and her children despite difficult personal and social barriers. Adele moved to Arizona in 1997 and made a new life for herself there. Her perseverance and love will not be forgotten.

She is survived by her three children, Alfredas Butkus, Andrew Allen, and Ruth Allen; four grandchildren: Michelle Claason, Janiece Jackson, Adrian Butkus, and Mitchel Allen-Rivera and three great-grand children: Harley Jackson and Cody and Caiden Butkus.

Her Memorial service will be held on Wednesday Oct. 12, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Avenue Tempe, AZ.
