    RITES FOR MRS. H. H. EATON HELD SATURDAY

    Resident Of City Since 1907 Succumbs Friday To Heart Ailment


    Mrs. Harry H. Eaton, 64, for thirty eight years a resident of Jennings [Louisiana] and active in civic, club and church affairs, died at the family home Friday noon after a several months illness from a heart ailment.

    Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian Church at 4:30 Saturday afternoon with Reverend Paul Thompson officiating and burial was made in Greenwood cemetery [Jennings, Louisiana] with Miguez Funeral Home in charge. Pall bearers were C. B. Cary, A. S. Campbell, Thomas H. Clark, T. J. Hudson, G. P. Modlish and C. E. Stackhouse.

    Born Pearl P. Miller, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Miller at Norway, Oregon on September 15, 1880, she came with her family to Louisiana in 1897, settling in Welsh where she attended school and later enrolled in the old Briggs Academy in Jennings.

    She married Harry Hixon Eaton on August 28, 1907 and had lived here since. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Literary Club, the Embroidery Club and the Presbyterian Auxiliary.

    Besides the husband, she is survived by a son, A. R. Eaton, now of Orange [Texas], a daughter, Mary Eaton of Beaumont [Texas], a brother, John Miller, of Welsh and five sisters: Miss Cora Miller, of Lake Charles [Louisiana], Mrs. Leona Kennedy and Miss Alice Miller of San Pedro, California, Mrs. L. E. Himler, of Baton Rouge [Louisiana], and Mrs. C. W. Cook, of Lafayette [Louisiana].
