Arthur attended Lehman High School, Canton, Ohio, Graduated in 1944; Attended Mt. Union College, Alliance, Ohio, Graduated in 1950. Carol graduated from Kent State University; she was a librarian in a Junior High School in Painsville, Ohio.

Arthur Bevier was on board a navy ship in Tokyo bay in 1945 when General Douglas MacArthur accepted the surrender of Japan. Arthur is a Member of the Chamber of Commerce, Member of Community Foundations, served on the YMCA Board for 10 years, serving on Building Committee for a new addition, and received the Man of the Year Award in Painsville.

Carol has been known for her ability in flower arranging. She is an avid golfer along with Art. In retirement they enjoy being free to travel both within the United States and abroad. Carol's involvement includes in Painsville the Junior Service League, Children's Theatre at Lake Erie College, and the Volunteer Service Bureau. She has made puppets and helped present puppet shows. In Venice, Florida she is a volunteer in the Library.


Carol Taylor Bell

Venice - Carol Taylor Bell, age 92, died in Venice, Florida on July 13, 2021. She was born on March 7, 1929 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Robert & Elizabeth Taylor.

In 1936, she moved with her family to Canton, Ohio where she attended Lehman High School and then on to Kent State University. While there, she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

In 1950, she married the love of her life, Arthur B. Bell and they moved to Painesville, Ohio. They began a wonderful life and had three children. Lots of volunteer work, golf and travel around the world followed.

In 1983 they moved to Venice, Florida and in 1986 they moved to the Plantation Golf & Country Club where they began a wonderful retirement. Carol was a member of the Plantation Womens Golf Association, Womens Bocce Group, Plantation Holiday Choral Group, and the Plantation Community Foundation. She was a member of the Venice United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir for 28 years. She had enjoyed needlework, painting and had a lifelong love of reading.

Carol is survived by her husband of 71 years, Arthur B. Bell; daughter Sally (Richard) Mowrey; son, Andrew (Kim) Bell; daughter Molly (Vernon) Mains; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard L. Taylor & grandson, Taylor T. Brady.

She always told us to "Have a happy day" and would always end our conversations with, "Bye-bye for now!" So, in that spirit, we will move forward being happy in the knowledge that we will see her again someday.

A tentative memorial service is being planned for Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Venice United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Venice United Church of Christ, 620 Shamrock Boulevard, Venice, FL 34293, or Tidewell Hospice at www.tidewellhospice.org.
