B2 John Bell, born 1732, died August 1810, Cecil Twp, Washington County, PA. Married ca. 1762 to Elizabeth Boyd, born 1735, died ca. 1800. She was the daughter of Robert Boyd. John Bell was a farmer and lived on land north of his father's until 1772 when he moved to West Pennsborough Township, Cumberland County, PA. In 1803 he moved to Cecil Township, Washington County to join his oldest son Robert.

John was a vereran of the Revolutionary War. He was a private, along with son Robert, in Co. 2, Battalion 2, Cumberland County Militia, under Captain James McFarlane in 1780 and 1781. Had issue:
