Eliza Jane Junkin (1832-1902)

D5 Eliza Jane Junkin, born 11 Sept. 1832 in Lewistown, Mifflin County Pennsylvania., died 19 April 1902 in Peru, Miami County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Andrew Junkin and Margaret Willis. She married James Tallman Henton on 4 Oct. 1855 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.

James Tallman Henton was born 14 April 1829 in Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio. He was the son of Benjamin Henton (VA) and Rachel Stinson. He died between 1900-1910. James was the younger of the two sons of Dr. Benjamin Henton who was born at Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio, April 14, 1829, and was eight years of age when he was brought to Miami County IN. He attended the village schools and learned and for some time practiced the art of telegraphy and afterward for some time engaged in merchandising, first as a grocer and subsequently as a dry goods merchant, as a member of the firm of Henton & Lindsey. During the Civil War he bought lumber and horses. In 1865 he engaged in the marble business, which he continued until 1870. Next he was for a time occupied in the cigar and drug trade, but more recently and for many years he has been engaged in the real estate business.
