Jane Junkin (1798-1885)

ANCESTRAL LINE: A1 Joseph Junkin I | B1 William Junkin | C1 James Junkin

D2 Jane Junkin, born 10 June 1798; died 16 Apr 1885. Married 1815 Casper Dull III, born December 1791, died September 22, 1874. Both are buried in the cemetery east of McVeytown. Casper Dull III was of German descent, the son of Hannah Methieu and Casper II, a captain in the Revolutionary War. Casper III operated a boat line on the Juniata and Susquehanna rivers, had farming interests and owned a sand mine. The sand was used In making glass. He was also a contractor and built parts of the Pennsylvania canal.

Note: On Jane Dull's stone in the cemetery, her birth date is June 14; the Junkin family Bible lists June 10. The author also believes her death date is in error, Nieces and nephews of Jane, including the author's father, had repeatedly mentioned that Aunt Jane lived to be the oldest of their uncles and aunts. Therefore she believes the death date should be 1895. All the Dull children were born at McVeytown.
