NOAH HORINE DEAD; WAS BANK DIRECTOR

Prominent Butler Township Man Lived Near Castine

Noah Horine, 76, prominent Butler township farmer and livestock dealer, died early Wednesday evening at his home north of Castine following a lingering illness from a complication of diseases.

A native of Darke County, Mr. Horine had spent his entire life in the Castine vicinity. He had served as a member of the board of directors of the First State Bank of West Manchester for several years.

He was an active member of both Knights of Pythias lodge, Castine, and the I. O. O. F. lodge at Eaton.

Immediate survivors include a widow, Bertha; two brothers, George of New Madison, and Aaron, of near Arcanum, and one sister, Mrs. Luther Snyder, also of Arcanum R. R.

Funeral services are to be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the United Brethren church in Castine with the Rev. Byron Green officiating. Interment will be made in the mausoleum at Greenville cemetery.

Sister of Local Woman Expires In Greenville Monday

Mrs. Bertha Horine, 87, of Arcanum, sister of a well-known Lewisburg woman, died Monday noon in a Greenville rest home where she had resided for the past several months.

Mrs. Horine and her late husband, Noah, were former longtime residents of the Castine community where he was widely-known as a thresherman and cattleman.

A few years after Mr. Horine's death, Mrs. Horine moved to Arcanum where she resided until last summer when her frailties precluded further maintenance of her home and she was removed to the rest home where she expired.

Final rites will be at 10:30 a. m. today from the Kreitzer Funeral home in Arcanum, after which the remains will be placed in a crypt in the mausoleum in the Greenville cemetery.

Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Siceth of Troy, and Mrs. Iota Hecathorn of Lewisburg, and several nieces and nephews.
