[Clipping dated May 5, 1905]

Henry Fisher was born May 24, 1822, died May 5, 1905 at his late home, White Pine, Tenn. He was converted when a young man. He was not still born, he gave loud expressions of hallelujahs and praises to God. He did not have any place to go to meeting in his early life, hence he did not hear preaching. The second sermon he heard was from Bishop Weaver who was a student at the New Hagerstown Academy, who preached occasionally on Sunday Evenings at the school house where Fisher went to the day school and was the first member that WEAVER took in the church of the United Brethren in Christ. There was a small class at that place, and Brother Fisher was soon elected leader which was honorably filled for twenty-eight years consecutively. Physically in combativeness he was a child, spiritually he was a giant, he was fearless in witnessing for his Savior. He was a soldier of our war of '61. He would hold prayer meetings and get many of his comrades and others to attend. He was a man of good common sense. He served his God from principle because he loved him. His yoke and burden were willingly borne. He was a consecrated Christian. He was married twice; by the first wife were born four children three sons and one daughter. Only two sons are now living. The son who took care of his father in his sickness brought him to Ohio and buried him in the Tunnel Hill cemetery by the side of his first wife. He was a lover of the of time U B Church and gave of his means to the church, yet he had none where he lived to worship his God with. But Daniel like, he would worship his God with his face toward the New Jerusalem. The funeral services were conducted by the writer to a large congregation.
