Albert spent his entire life on the family farm which was bought by his grandfather, Samuel Albert McClanahan, on December 16, 1873. Both Albert and Beulah are buried in Kirker Cemetery.

Albert K. McClanahan, was born November 18, 1911, and departed this life on March 6, 1988, at the age of 76 years, three months, and 24 days.

Albert was also preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. McClanahan; one brother, Delbert, and two sisters, Edna Lee and Edith Winona.

Albert leaves to mourn his passing his three children; two daughters-in-law, Joyce and Connie McClanahan; son-in-law, James P. Warner; grandchildren, Marla, and James Troy McClanahan of West Union, Mary K. McClanahan of State College, Pennsylvania; Jeffrey and Melanie Warner of Columbus, Ohio; and James Douglas Warner of Grove City, Ohio. Five great-grandchildren, David, Jessica, Gregory, Danette and Susan McClanahan, all of West Union; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Purdin of Cherry Fork and Nellie Roush of E. McKeesport, Pennsylvania; cousins, nieces and nephews of Columbus, Ohio.

Albert was a lifelong resident and farmer in Liberty Township, Adams County, a member of the West Union F&Am Lodge No. 43, the Presbyterian Church, the I.O.O.F. Lodge, and Jerusalem Grange.

His guidance and support will be missed by his family and friends.

But perhaps that is the reason
      we sometimes gets the notion
That fathers are not subject
      to the thing we call emotion
But if you look inside dad's heart
      where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
      and as "soft" as he can be
But he's so busy every day
      in the grueling race of life
He leaves the sentimental stuff
      to his partner and his wife.

But fathers are just wonderful
      in a million different ways
And they merit loving compliments
      and accolades of praise
For the only reason dad aspires
      to fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
      and to bring them happiness
And like our Heavenly Father
      he's a guardian and a guide
Someone that we can count on
      to be always on our side.

G1 Robert Clyde McClanahan, born July 6, 1936, died July 1, 1996, buried in Kirker Cemetery; married August 20, 1955 Joyce Ann Ellis, born March 30, 1936, died July 20, 2016; Joyce was the daughter of Wayne Ellis and Grace Beam.

G2 James A. McClanahan, born July 12, 1940; married July 31, 1960 Connie Hayslip, born December 22, 1941.

G3 Brenda Lu McClanahan, born March 1, 1944 in Maysville, Kentucky, died November 15, 2009 in Grove City, Ohio; married August 14, 1965 at West Union, Ohio James P. Warner, born June 19, 1942, died September 21, 2010 in Grove City, Ohio. James was the son of James H. Warner of Columbus, Ohio.
