On Saturday morning, June 18th, Mr. William McClanahan, in the 72nd year of his age.

The deceased was one of the early Pioneers of the country, and for the last fifty years has lived in the vicinity of West Union. He was universally esteemed by all who knew him, was kind, indulgent and generous to a fault; was a worthy and consistent member of the United Presbyterian church. Another good old man is gone! Peace to his remains.

C1 Eliza McClanahan, born March 25, 1810, died June 7, 1877; married September 18, 1828 or September 17, 1829 Waid Baldridge, born August 25, 1805 in Rockbridge county, Virginia, died April 7, 1859 in Adams county, Ohio. Ten children. Waid was the son of the Rev. William Baldridge (1761-1830) and Rebecca Agnew ( -1817).

C2 James T. McClanahan, born September 25, 1814, died September 24, 1892; married April 11, 1843 Sophia M. Baldridge, born January 12, 1815, died July 7, 1900. Seven children.

C3 Samuel D. McClanahan, born August 21, 1819, died December 15, 1837; married Sally ____.

C4 John McClanahan, born October 20, 1820, died August 16, 1901; married (1) November 20, 1842 Esther Bess, born ca. 1821, died 1874; married (2) November 10, 1874 Nancy May, born December 4, 1825, died March 18, 1903. Four children.

C5 Nancy Jane McClanahan, born ca. 1825; died young.
