Former Local Resident Taken

Ralph McClanahan, age 48 years, a former resident of West Union, passed away at Little Rock, Ark., on Monday morning of a heart attack.

The body was returned to the home at Portsmouth where private funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock, with Rev. H.G. Vorsheim, pastor of the central Presbyterian church officiating and burial made in the Greenlawn cemetery.

Mr. McClanahan was born in West Union where he spent his early life and later moved to Portsmouth where he was connected with the Hibbs Hardware Company for a number of years.

Surviving are his widow Mrs. Lucy McClanahan and a daughter Lucille, also two brothers John B. and Robert P. McClanahan of West Union.

    F1 Lucille McClanahan, born March 4, 1911, died 30, May, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio; married Dr. Joseph Morris Babcock, born 1894 in Morgantown, West Virginia, died January 14, 1965 in Portsmouth, Ohio; Joseph was an Ophthalmologist living in Portsmounth, Ohio. Four children.
