Obituary - Horine

Mahlon Tobias Horine, son of Samuel S. and Sarah A. Horine, was born December 17th, 1868, and was accidentally killed at Pearce's crossing March 24th, 1920, aged 51 years, 3 months and seven days.

He was married to Louisa L. Hartzell, July 7th, 1894, by Rev. W. J. Pruner. He leaves his wife, Louisa L., two sons Raymond and Jacob, his mother, his brother Enoch, and a large circle of relatives to mourn his departure.

Mr. Horine was a kind and affectionate father, always prividing for his family every comfort; he was always carefully considerate as to the views and preferences of others, and while he had a warm social side, he was modest and retiring and never intruded himself upon others unless there was an apparent affinity of spirits.

His loving solicitude for the welfare of his widowed mother was constant throughout the years and reflected the Spiritual man within.

His outstanding characteristic was his ability to see in advance and to manage successfully his business affairs, but always upon a basis of honesty and square dealing. While he was not a religionist, he had the essential qualities that go to make a good father - a substantial, law-abiding citizen, and we look with confidence to the continuance of a career so well begun, which we believe the wisdom and love of God has ordained shall go on expanding and enlarging "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, into the measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ."
