Catherine married (2) October 9, 1821, Montgomery County Ohio, his second marriage, no children Jacob Overholser (view marriage), born March 9, 1770, Adams Co Pennsylvania, married (1) Elizabeth ____ , 5 children, died March 14, 1850, Montgomery Co Ohio, son of John Overholser and Mary Chronister.

Catherine was still living in 1860 as she was age 68 living with her daughter and son-in-law Susan and John Cable in Neave Twp Darke Co Ohio, in the 1860 census.


John and Susannah Overholser, parents of Abraham Overholser, and David and Magdalena Miller, parents of Catharine Miller, were active members of the Brethren community in Morrisons Cove, Bedford Co PA, from 1785 to 1795, so they probably knew each other well. Both families left Bedford Co PA around 1795. John and Susannah Overholser moved to the next county west, Somerset Co PA, and David and Magdalena Miller moved down the Ohio River to Campbell Co KY. In 1807, both families moved again, to adjacent townships in Montgomery Co OH, the Overholsers to Madison Twp and the Millers to Randolph Twp. Both families became part of the Brethren community there. Four years later, their children, Abraham Overholser and Catharine Miller, were married Abraham and Catharine Overholser had three children, all born in Montgomery Co OH, the third born after Abraham’s death.
