George Miller (1722-1798)

C5 George Miller, born 1722, died 1798. Married Catherine (?), born 1726, died 1796. It is recorded that he remained in Chester County, Pennsylvania and became minister of the Brethren Church. When families moved west to area of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, they prevailed on George Miller, to move with them and be their minister. He was a farmer and weaver and became the first preacher at the Big Swatara Church of the Brethren, in Pennsylvania.

Ten children:

D1 Abraham Miller, died 1843. Settled in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.

D2 George Miller, Jr. Settled in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

D3 Barbara Miller. Married Jacob Smith, died 1803/04. Nine children.

D4 Eve Miller. Married Dan Keefer, 4th preacher at Big Swatara.

D5 Elizabeth Miller, born 1753, died 1821. Married Valentine Balsbaugh, born 1755, died 1851, son of Johann George Balschbach and Marie Eva Munch (Minnick). He was a Church of the Brethren minister. Eleven children.

D6 Catherine Miller. Married George Minnick, born 1751, died 1810, son of Wendell Munch (Minnich) and Gertraut Balspach. Seven children.

D7 Marie Miller. Married George Fackler (Falkner).

D8 Henry Miller, born 1766, died 1843. Married (first wife) Barbara Keiffer. Married (second wife) Elizabeth Kline, born 1746, died 1814, daughter of David Kline and Elizabeth Brenisen. David was a Church of the Brethren minister at the Little Swatara Church, Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Granddaughter of Elder George Kline.

D10 Fannie Miller. Did not marry.
