Frank M Coppock was born July 11, 1887 in Hamilton County Ohio to Frank M Coppock and Jennie Williams. He was a physician in Cincinnati. He served in WWI as a Lieutenant (JR Grade) in the MC and served his duty at the Naval Hospital Pelham Bayman Park NY . Later he was a gynecologist in Hamilton Ohio.

Obituary of Dr. F.M. Coppock

Services for Dr. Frank M. Coppock Jr.-prominent Cincinnati Surgeon and Hamilton County Coroner since 1934, who died Thursday at his home 3738 Woodford Rd. Kennedy, will be held at 10 am Monday at the W. Mack Johnson funeral home. The Rev Leroy Simms of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hills cemetery.

Ill for several months, Dr. Coppock died of a kidney ailment followed an attack of influenza he suffered early in the year.

Dr. Coppock was born in Cincinnati July 11, 1887. He was educated at Franklin School, Yale University and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. After serving internship at General Hospital, Dr. Coppock became resident surgeon at Christ Hospital in 1916.

Dr. C. L.. He served as a Lieutenant in the navy Medical Corps in WWI. He was assistant to Bonifield, abdominal surgeon for 6 years and then entered private practice. He was elected Coroner in 1934, 1936, 1940 and 1944 on the Republican ticket.

Professor of gynecology at the UC College of Medicine since 1931, Dr. Coppock also was on the staffs of Christ Hospital, The Home for the Incurables and Maple Knoll hospital and Home, Glendale, at the time of his death. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Masonic Lodge, Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and the Board of Governors of the University Club. He was also President of the Oak Building and Loan Co, Walnut Hills. A horseman and amateur gardener, Dr. Coppock was interested in collecting stamps and at one time was President of the national Philatelist Society.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Junkin Coppock who he married in 1923, and two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Ruthven and Mrs. Dorothy Walton. Hamilton County Commissioners will appoint an acting Coroner. Dr. Coppock's term would have expired January 1, 1949.

Dorothy J. Coppock, 87, formerly of Cincinnati, died Tuesday in Tampa. Florida.

She was the widow of Dr. Frank F. Coppock, who served as Hamilton County coroner from 1935 until his death May 11, 1948, while still in office.

She leaves a brother, Donald W. Junkin of Hamilton.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Hills Cemetery along Victory Parkway between Gilbert and Durrell Avenues. There will be no visitation. Bamber Funeral Home, Walnut Hills, is in charge.
