The Passing of An Estimable Young WomanMrs. Jessie Gertrude Junkin, wife of H. A. Junkin, the well known deputy on the county clerk's office, died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at her home, 116 Huston street. Mrs. Junkin had been ill since January with a complication of troubles and her life had been hanging by a slender thead for a long time. Her death is particularly sad for the reason that she leaves two little children besides her husband to mourn for her. Mrs Junkin was a most estimable woman of many good traits of character and one who always attracted to her a large number of friends, all of whom will be sincerely grieved at her death. s Miss Jessie Spivey, her maiden name, she was married to H. A. Junkin on January 20, 1900 in Newport, Ky. Three children were born to them, only two of whom with her husband, survive her. The children are Albert Hudson and Anna Jane Junkin. H. A. Junkin, the bereaved husband, has the sincere sympathy of his many friends in the loss of a loving and devoted wife. Her death is indeed a heavy blow to him.
Harry A. Junkin Succumbs at 78Harry A. Junkin 78 316 Elvin Ave, widely known Hamilton resident,died of a heart condition Wednesday at 9 p.m. in his residence. The Hamilton fire department life squad were called for Mr. Junkin, a resident of the community since 1894, was born in Peru Indian on Feb 13,1880, a son of Albert A and Rebecca Penner Junkin. He attended schools in Peru Indiana and in Hamilton. Operated Drug Store Respected by hundreds of friends, Mr. Junkin had represented the Horlicks Malted Milk Corporation for many years and had also operated a drug store between 1905 and 1917 at Main and B Sts. In later than life he was an agent for Don and Bradstreet financial institution. He married Jessie G. Spivey on January 18, 1900 and she preceded him in death in 1904. Mr Junkin later married Gertrude Ellen Jellision on Jan 22, 1922 . She died in 1941. Widely read and an authority on the community, Mr. Junkin was a member of Washington Lodge 17 F & AM ; and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati. He was fond of his home and family. Members of Family He leaves one son Albert H Junkin, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers William T and Albert Junkin and one sister Roberta Reiff. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at Robert A Klaus Funeral Home N F St and Elvin Ave, with the Pastor Lloyd C. Zeller of the First Methodist Church officiating . Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 4 and 9 p.m.. Scottish Rite ceremonies will be conducted in conjunction with funeral services Saturday morning and Washington Lodge will conduct services Friday at 7 p.m.; at the funeral home.
