Edward Dixon Junkin, Jr. (1903-1991)

F2 Edward Dixon Junkin, Jr., was born January 9, 1903 in Austin, Texas, and died August 25, 1991 in Bedford, Virginia. He married Mary Ella Taft O'Sands December 20, 1944 in Reynosa, Mexico. She was born September 8, 1908 in Madison County, and died March 6, 1971 in Austin, Texas.

Edward was born and raised in Austin, Texas attending public elementary and high schools there and then the University of Texas. He was a member of the University Presbyterian Church in Austin. He joined the Army because of World War II and served at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas and at Ft. Knox in Kentucky. After being discharged from the army he married Mary and was an accountant practicing in California, Washington, DC and Texas. He was also the resident golf pro at the Willow Springs and Bastrop Golf Courses.

Ed was very active in the Elks Club in both Austin and Bedford, Virginia. He was the Secretary of the Elks Club in Austin and the Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club (for one year) at the Elks National Home in Bedford where he spent many of his retirement years.
