E8 Grant Rosslyn Junkin, born 10 July 1873, Warren County, Illinois; died 14 Dec 1949, Humboldt, Kansas. Grant was handicapped as a result of a childhood illness that baffled doctors at the time, and left him with a slight limp. Later physicians were almost sure that he had had polio. He assisted his sister Blanche and her husband in their store at Humboldt, where he met Esta Hicks whom he married 1 June 1904. For years he was a rural mail carrier out of Humboldt. Esta Junkin died 2 February 1938. Both are buried at Humboldt, Kansas.
