C3 Jacob Hartman Zercher, born February 27, 1828, from family Bible "Jacob H Zercher the third child of Jacob & Sarah Zercher was born the 27th of April A D at 1 o'clock in the evening Manheim twp, Lancaster Co Pa", died March 28, 1889 in Lancaster City, was buried on the 30th at Mennonite graveyard New Providence aged 60 years 11 month 1 day; married Lydia Ann Leaman, daughter of Joseph Leaman & Lydia Hartman (Lydia was his maternal 1st cousin's daughter) Lydia Ann died in 1878 & is buried on the New Providence cemetery.

"Mr Jacob H Zercher of Manor Street died this morning at the age of 61 years from dropsy. He had been a paralytic before he was attacked with dropsy and has been a sufferer for a long time. He was well known and greatly respected. The deceased was the father of ten children, one of whom a bright young lad is one of the New Era carriers."
