The names BALDRIDGE -- BALDRY and BALDREY, the meanings of the names are "personal" and "bold ruler". In the Teutonic the name is BALDRIC, bald meaning bold and ric meaning a ruler. Sometimes in the old English it is BALDREC. The old German form is BALDRIC and BALDRICH. Evidently the name was brought to England by the Saxons.
