Benjamin Junkin (1761-1812)

B7 Benjamin Junkin, born ca. 1761, died 1812 Perry County, Pa. Married 1779 Mary Davidson. Benjamin was also a Revolutionary soldier serving in the 5th Battalion, Cumberland Co, militia, commanded by Capt. John Buchanan; inherited the east half of Joseph I's farm including the site of the present town of New Kingston.

Four children:

C1 John Junkin, born November 6, 1795, died July 26, 1865; Buried Oakridge cemetery, West Liberty, Iowa. He was an associate judge of Perry County Pa. from 1832 to 1852. In 1853 he moved his family to Muscatine County, Iowa, where he farmed until his death, Married (lst) 2 Apr 1815 Maria Adams (b 1792; d 5 March 1835) daughter of Abraham Adams. Married 2nd 28 March 1836 Susan Guss (b 20 July 1816; d 7 April 1898; buried Oakridge cemetery, West Liberty, Iowa)

C2 Dr. Joseph Junkin, born 1802, died 1827. Married Adeline Crain, died March 3, 1881 in Camden, N.J., daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Whitehall Crain. No issue.

C3 Dr. Benjamin Junkin, born 1804, died 1830.

C4 Ann Junkin, born 1806. Married William Irving of Allegheny, Pa..
