Henry Fisher, at one time one of the best known citizens of Bowerston but who had resided in White Pine, Tennessee, for the last several years, died Friday, May 5, 1905, at the home of his son in that city. Mr. Fisher was 83 years old. His boyhood was Spent on Fisher's Run and soon after his marriage to Miss Dunlap, he became the owner of the homestead. Mr. Fisher at an early age became identified with the United Brethren Church at Tunnel Hill and was a class leader for more than twenty-eight years, always taking an active part in church affairs. Mr,. Fisher was a Christian gentleman always. He enlisted in the Ohio Regiment OVI and here he related his Christian spirit, at times conducting prayer meetings around the camp there. Mr. Fisher was a man of mature judgement and [illegible] to serve God and his church. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, two of whom survive. L. Fisher, of White Pine, Tennessee, with whom he had lived for many years, and Rev. R. Fisher, a minister of the United Brethren Church in Tennessee. Mr. Fisher's remains were brought to his former home and interred in the Tunnel Hill cemetery, services being conducted on Sunday, May 7. A large number of persons were in attendance at the services.
