B3 Robert McClanahan, born 1771 in Ulster, Ireland, died July 17, 1832 as a result of injuries received at a barn raising; married (1) Isabella ____, born 1766, died July 21, 1828; married (2) Margaret Doake, born 1782, died January 24, 1832. Robert was living in Tiffin Township, Adams County, Ohio in 1830. Robert and Margaret are buried in Cherry Fork Cemetery, Adams County, Ohio.
Robert McClanahan and Isabella, his wife, came from Ireland and purchased land on which West Union is now located, and while it was still a part of the Northwest Territory they donated or sold the land for public buildings to the county. Their son, Samuel, was born on the fifteen of February, 1797.

C1 Captain John McClanahan, born 1794 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, died February 3, 1863 of wounds received in the battle at Fort Donelson, Tennessee; married Margaret (Peggy) Black Wright, born July 19, 1800 in Bourbon County, Kentucky, died 1873/4 in Warren County, Illinois.
C2 Judge Samuel McClanahan, born February 15, 1797 in Ireland, died November 5, 1881; married December 14, 1815 Mary Armstrong, born ca. 1804 in Virginia, died August 4, 1869; both buried in Cherry Fork Cemetery.
C3 Nancy A. McClananhan, born June 2, 1803 in Adams county, Ohio, and died December 2, 1879 of Mumlgia of heart, in Spring Creek Township, Mahaska county, Iowa; married September 20, 1825 Daniel Voshall Coryell in Adams county, Ohio; Daniel died on December 8 1887, in Spring Creek Township, Mahaska county, Iowa. Daniel's father was Lewis Coryell.
C4 William McClanahan, born ca. 1810; married Margaret ____, born ca. 1815
